The best Japanese dining experience in Santa Fe.

Our History

An innovative gastronomic proposal of traditional Japanese food.

With an avant-garde vision, Sakai presents Japanese gastronomy while elevating the senses to a maximum state of fascination, between the delight and quality of its menu and the excellent atmosphere of Santa Fe, CDMX.

Sakai's proposal focuses on traditional Japanese food, using extraordinary national products, Japanese and from other parts of the world such as New Zealand, Chile, the United States and Alaska, to name a few. Of the gastronomic elements we can highlight the blue fin tuna (chu-toro / toro / akami), the king salmon, the Japanese sea urchin (uni) and the salmon roe (ikura), ideal to delight any palate..

Our Menu

The menu proposed by Executive Chef Nacho Carmona is a combination of concepts such as Nigiris, Makis, Tempuras, traditional soups and Sashimis. Among the specialties is the "Maki Ikigai", rib eye hibashi with shishito tempura, "Rib Eye Gyozas" and the Ikura in Lemon. Another of the great surprises brought to excellence is the hedgehog (uni), one of the star ingredients of Umai, which is why several of its dishes were created with the inspiration of its complex flavor.

"What a great new place! The salmon and tuna are some of the best I've had. Very soft. The king crab nigiri was one of the best I've had! The seaweed salad was a revelation! Can't wait to go back!"

  • Ana Peña

"Real sushi. Nigiris and sashimis are absolutely delicious. No hard liquor; just sake, wine and beer. Must try."
